Thousands of families in Venezuela are facing unimaginable loss after two devastating earthquakes struck the north of the country just minutes apart.

The powerful magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes have claimed more than 100 lives, with authorities warning the death toll is expected to rise as search and rescue efforts continue.

For families who were already struggling, this disaster has pushed them beyond breaking point.

Even before the earthquakes, almost 8 million people across Venezuela required humanitarian assistance, with four out of every five people facing food insecurity. Now, countless more have been left without shelter, clean water or enough food to survive.
